Little Blossoms Room (3-4yrs)

The Little Blossoms Room is led by Miss Molly and provides a more focused learning for the children in preparation for their Reception year. This room provides the children with exciting and interesting activities to extend their learning and increase their practical life skills in preparation for their future learning.

A day in the life of…

MORNING

The day starts with arrival & free play. We take a daily registration followed by songs, calendar and weather in circle time. Followed by daily phonics, songs and stories.

SNACK TIME

To be consistent with the Montessori Method and the importance of promoting independence the children choose their own snack and are offered milk and or water together with healthy snacks such as fresh fruit or vegetables, cheese, rice cakes, crackers, toast and the occasional homemade cake or biscuit. We encourage the children to use glass and crockery along with real utensils, they will experience setting the table and tidying away after themselves including washing up and sweeping the floor.

WORK CYCLES

Each morning, the children are offered to take part in a calm and purposeful work cycle in our dedicated Montessori room with Mrs Jackson, where they engage in meaningful learning either 1:1 or in a small group depending on their needs and interests. This focused time allows children to explore carefully chosen materials, practise new skills, and follow their curiosity in a peaceful, structured environment.
Alongside this, children can enjoy focused lessons with their key worker, giving space for personalised teaching, gentle guidance, and close observation. Together, these moments create a rhythm of learning that supports independence, confidence, and deep concentration.

OUTDOOR PLAY

The children love to spend time outdoors exploring the nature around them. Children have daily access outside come rain or shine where they are encouraged to explore and develop physical skills. They have access to our secure playground, woodland school, very large grassed area and vegetable garden. We have water trays, a sand pit, tyres, digging and growing patches, and a variety of cars and bikes. A change of clothes is very handy!

LUNCH & FREE PLAY

Our 3–4-year-olds enjoy a calm, social lunchtime together, creating a lovely sense of community and belonging within the Blossoms group. They sit with friends and familiar adults to share a cooked lunch and dessert, which is either delivered fresh each day or prepared on site by our team. This shared routine supports independence, communication, and table side confidence, giving children time to chat, practise self-care skills, and enjoy a nourishing meal before moving into their afternoon of free play, focused learning, and outdoor exploration.

AFTERNOON

In the afternoon, the children move into a calm and purposeful work cycle that mirrors their morning routine, giving them another opportunity to engage deeply in meaningful learning. They enjoy a balance of free play, arts and crafts, baking, woodland activities, and group play, choosing experiences that spark curiosity and independence. This gentle structure allows children to follow their interests while developing confidence, creativity, and social skills, creating a natural flow to their learning before after in snack and tea at 4pm.
