02 Feb A busy start
It has been a busy start to the year with lots of new children joining our nursery family and settling in really nicely.
Children in our Caterpillars room have been enjoying the ‘Winter’ topic exploring lots of different sensory tuff trays with oats and rice and have made some beautiful winter pictures. We have also started to introduce our new topic ‘people who help us’. At the moment we are learning about the police, reading stories and making our very own police badges. Our super Detective Caterpillars!
In Ladybirds room, the children have been busy taking part in winter activities. We have started introducing more Montessori work and the children have loved being part of the ‘woodies’ each week having a set day to enjoy the outdoors woodland area.
In Butterflies, we have been learning about ‘space’ and it has been a huge hit. The children have helped create a space station in their classroom and it has been wonderful listening to their imagination ignite pretending to be astronauts. They have learned about the different planets and what they are each like and listed ten things they would take on their rocket to the moon.
