As a lover of the great outdoors, Lisa Barratt says she couldn’t have picked a better place to return to early years learning teaching than Little Pippins Montessori Nursery School.

With a Level 3 Forest School qualification, the married mum-of-three will be working closely with Miss Kate in our Woodland School, as well as helping out in our nursery rooms, particularly with the older children in Butterflies.

She comes well qualified as Lisa also has degree in Childhood and Professional Practice Studies and has worked with children and young people across her entire career spanning over 25 years.

This includes Barnardo’s where she did community work for 11 years working with children and young people who had a parent or someone close to them with mental health issues or a physical disability.

She has also worked in nurseries and as a teaching assistant in schools, the latter where she discovered her passion for woodland/forest schools.

Lisa explains “I love being outdoors and have never enjoyed being stuck between four walls, so I wanted to do something different and the forest school qualification really appealed.

“Having worked with children with special educational needs, I have seen how much they thrive from taking part in activities so this has become a real passion for me.

“I was very excited when I saw the woodland school at Little Pippins. It’s an amazing outside area and I am looking forward to working with Miss Kate to make it an even better resource.

“The inside of the nursery is beautiful as well and everyone has been supportive and welcoming since I joined, so I couldn’t be happier to now be part of the team.”
